Tami Pickett

owner/stylist

Starting her career off with the foundation and theory of the AVEDA INSTITUTE Des Moines, Tami quickly learned her love and appreciation for the beauty industry. Learning and growing in such a compact network of talented artists and educators was just as much encouraging as it was inspiring.

After graduating from AIDM, Tami joined the Bella Valley West team where she grew personally and professionally. "Bella allowed me to really hone my craft and gave me endless opportunities. That's where I built my clientele, it's where I made forever friends, where I got married and had babies. It's where I learned to fall in love with what I do more and more everyday." At Bella, Tami was able to certify in many different pieces of the industry; color, hair extensions, lash extensions, body waxing, and routine skin care. In 2015, Tami joined WELLA as a brand educator, and is still able to travel and educate countless hairdressers for the WELLA Company. Moving forward to 2018, Tami managed and grew XO STUDIO West Des Moines for a salon owner from Chicago. "XO gave me the opportunity to grow from the business side, learn how to navigate running a salon, and maintain guest relationships."

From there, Tami made the biggest and most rewarding career move, and on December 1, 2021 opened Rouge Style Company. She designed RSCO with a commitment to the guest experience and the stylist well-being. "I am committed to my team. I wouldn't be where I am without them. I have the most incredible team, and I will work everyday to make sure they know how grateful I am for them. And, I am forever grateful for the guests I get to treat everyday in my chair. Twelve years is a long time, and so many of my relationships are that and counting. I also wouldn't be able to do what I do without them."

Inside of the salon, Tami spends most of her time, Monday-Friday, behind the chair with Thursdays being a day for education, Saturdays for wedding parties, and Sundays with her family. "There isn't anything in the salon that I will not do. I love a challenge. My heart is in the center of this industry, and I hope I can inspire others the way I have been inspired. Like anything, you have to put in what you want to get out of it. It's hard. It's tiring, but it is absolutely worth it."

You will find Tami at RSCO most days, working on her robot dance moves and locating her cell phone. If she isn't in the salon, she is most likely group chatting her team, at a sporting event or practice, having fun with her boys, or chasing the dogs...and probably still searching for her cell phone!
